    Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site

    The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic State features the two-story home where Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in 1890. The home is filled with period antiques and the park encompasses the six acres surrounding the house. A visitor center and hiking trails are also located at the site.

    Fire Station No. 1

    Fire Station No. 1 is a historic fire station that is located near Fort Worth's Sundance Square District. An exhibit in the station commemorates the first 150 years of Fort Worth. Admission to the station is free of charge. The museum is part of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.

    C. S. Roberts House

    The C. S. Roberts House is a large Victorian mansion that was built by a prominent Sherman family. It is one of the only intact Eastlake-Stick style homes in Texas. Built in 1896, the house features stained glass windows, vintage automobiles, gazebo and gardens, among many other attractions.

    Florence Ranch Homestead

    The Florence Ranch Homestead serves as a Mesquite Museum and is located in the original home that was built in 1871 by the Florence family. The architecture of the Florence home features 19th-Century rural Texan style. The museum is open every second Saturday of the month from 10 am to 1 pm.

    Opal Lawrence Historical Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark. The house was built in 1874 in Texas prairie venacular style. Much of the original homestead is preserved, including the chicken coops, domestic buildings and brick-lined root cellar.
