Commemorating Ennis' Czech and Slovak heritage, the National Polka Festival occurs in Ennis every Memorial Day weekend in May. Festival events include many live bands, arts and crafts, shuttle buses transporting visitors to the various attractions, a parade and lots of beer and food.
